First Doctor's Visit

I have no pictures of Haley's first doctors appointment because when I took out the camera the battery was dead. Haley is now 8 pounds (born 8 pounds 1 ounce, when we were discharged from the hospital 3 days later she was 7 pounds 3 ounces), she is in the 50th percentile for weight. She has also grown almost an inch! I woke up one day last week and thought she grew over night! She is now 21 inches long which is in the 95 percentile for height. I'm going to have to yell at a 10 year old who is taller than me!

A Weekend of First

This past weekend was a first for Uncle Adam and Uncle John. Uncle Adam changed his first diaper! Lucky baby Haley! And baby Haley was the first baby that Uncle John ever held.

Uncle John wanted to start in small steps and didn't change a diaper yet but was very attentive to baby Haley all weekend.

Family Visit

This past weekend we had the joy of Queen, Doc, Uncle Adam and Uncle John coming to Jackson to spend time with us. It was a great weekend with lots of first that I'll post later. I will never be able to say Haley isn't loved enough!

First Outing!

Yesterday (Thursday) was such a beautiful day here in Jackson we took Haley out for her first walk around the neighborhood. I had to walk slow but did well and she slept the entire time. I'm taking that as a sign that she liked it! We'll try again in the next couple days hoping that the rain stays away.

Slow and steady!

Darby (the dog) was also excited to get out of the house.

Sweet sleeping baby after the walk.

First Bath at Home

On Tuesday night Trey and I gave Haley her first bath at home. I didn't know it would be so much work to get one lady ready for a bath. We had to find the perfect spot to bathe her (on the side of the guest bathroom counter), have clean towels (which meant doing a load of laundry), find the perfect water temperature (too hot, too cold, too hot, too cold). Then we were finally ready. She kicked a screamed during the entire bath, that is until we washed her hair. She loved getting her hair washed!! We now know what to do if she is fussy, just brush her hair.

One happy mommy to have a clean baby!

New Family Addition

When I was 15 my mom gave me a stuffed platypus in my Easter basket. I bonded with Paddy and have slept with it every night since then. I have taken it everyone: summer camp, college, vacations, my honeymoon, the hospital when I had Haley...Trey knows that Paddy is a must when I go to sleep! He kept teasing me that he had something for baby Haley and it came in the mail yesterday. Here is our newest family member! I only hope Haley loves her new stuffed animal as much as I love mine.

This Weekend

We had a great weekend home!

Friday night I was so lucky to be able to get some rest while Aunt Stina and Queen took care of Haley.

Saturday was a little rough. I didn't know there would be such a learning curve between a new baby and a new mommy, Haley and I worked things out though and by Saturday night we had worked out how to eat. Thank you mom for the help. Saturday night was surprisingly very easy. Haley actually slept in her crib, although Trey and I did have the baby monitor on the entire night!

Sunday we had our first well baby visit at the hospital. Haley today weighed 7 pounds 3 ounces, which is what she weighed when we were discharged Friday.

I must praise Queen, Doc and Aunt Stina for their love and help this weekend! I couldn't have done it without y'all being here this weekend. Haley and I are awaiting your next visit!

Queen with Haley
(I can't say enough about Queen without crying! You mean so much to me and I pray I can be half the mother you have been to me!)

Aunt Stina
(Thank you for driving 4 hours to spend the weekend with us. Haley and I can't wait to come visit with you one weekend in Auburn. Just what every college student wants I'm sure.)

Doc and Haley
(Not only a doctor but a grandfather, a chef, a picture hanger, a maid...I could go on and on!)

Our new family! The picture we took after our first well baby visit with Haley. The new family is home!

We're Home

So we finally left the hospital this afternoon. It was a really rough morning trying to leave the hospital with a fussy 3 day old but were blessed to have my grandparents this morning who held their great granddaughter all morning while we filled out paper work. We had a great ride home though and everyone loves her car seat cover!

Here are some pictures from the past couple days of little Haley! More to come!

Haley Nicole Ward Has Arrived

Our new little angel has arrived! Haley Nicole Ward arrived March 3, 2010. She weighs 8 pounds 1 ounce and 20 inches long. She is beautiful! We are still in the hospital but will be going home Friday afternoon. We've had a great experience here at River Oaks and have been blessed with great nurses and doctors.
